What's the difference between a passenger hoist, a material hoist, and a passenger-and-material hoist?
A passenger-only hoist is rated and certified to lift personnel (typically construction workers commuting between floors). A material-only hoist carries goods, with no person permitted in the cage during operation. A passenger-and-material (P&M) hoist is dual-certified for both duty cycles and is the most common configuration on UAE high-rise sites. All three are rack-and-pinion (mast-climbing) machines on UAE projects; wire-rope elevator-style hoists are rarely deployed.
What load capacities are available for construction hoists in the UAE?
Single-cage capacities typically range from 1,000 to 3,000 kg per cage. Twin-cage configurations (two cages on a shared mast) effectively double throughput: a GJJ SC200/200 carries 2 × 2,000 kg, an ORBIT OTH-2024 single cage handles 2,000 kg, and high-capacity SCD320 / SC300 units reach 3,200 kg. Do you handle erection, climbing extensions and dismantling — or just supply?
HOE provides end-to-end service. The same crew supplies the hoist, erects the base section, installs the mast in 1.5 m or 3 m stages, fits the wall ties as the structure rises, and handles dismantling at project end. Foundation reaction-force calculations and method statements are part of the standard deliverable.
Can I rent rather than buy?
Yes. Short-term (up to 6 months) and long-term (12+ months) rentals are available on both GJJ and ORBIT lines, with or without operator and maintenance coverage.
